  • Don’t delay . . . get started (that is... skip procrastinating and just get with it!)
  • Make a convenient place for everything.
  • Clean one room at a time.
  • Learn which one to trash or give away.
  • Eliminate running back and forth by putting the cleaning supplies in a bucket or carry all.
  • Choose the hardest chore first.
  • Clean everything ie from top to bottom
  • Do the same for each room in same order - windows, dusting, floors.
  • Work on a particular area at a time (no haphazard approach or else you would tire easily).
  • Create convenient areas to store kitchen equipment ie. pie plates, cake pans, etc.
  • Play upbeat music while you clean (this isnt a must; depends on you).
  • Don’t be distracted by the phone(the blackberry for instance). Clean while talking – use the cordless.
  • Serve dinner buffet style to eliminate cleaning serving dishes.
  • Bake while you do dishes – dovetail tasks – iron while doing laundry.
  • Clean as you go – wipe out sinks with dirty towels; squeegee shower stalls after each use.
  • Use odd moments to do odd jobs.
  • Utilize a junk drawer for miscellaneous items.
  • Put things in order before going to bed. Less clutter gives you more time, money and energy.

Cleaning It All...

When you are standing in a room and wondering where to begin . . . start from the top. Sounds basic, but it is a fool proof trick to cleaning well. When we are cleaning/dusting/scrubbing/etc we should always start with the top. Dust the tops of your window sills first then do the windows and finish up with the bottom or window ledge. Why? you may ask. As you clean, the dirt and dust particles are floating around and tend to float downward. So if we start from the top you will have to opportunity to 'grab' them all and get rid of them. Things to remember about Top Down Cleaning: 1) When cleaning a large space do all of the dusting first: A) Ceiling Fans and corner cob webs B) Tops of window blinds, blinds and window sills C) Tops of all other flat surfaces in room. 2) After vacuuming/cleaning furniture THEN vacuum/mop the floor 3) As you finish cleaning, put away the products you use. By the time you are finished the entire room will be done and you won...

In cleaning there are many fundamentals that form our operations and enable efficiencies across board and effective productivity.Even in this Artificial intelligence era, those fundamentals can't be disregarded. Looking closely at fundamentals, we find that there are some generic and some tweaked to fit the innovativeness of the cleaning operator concerned. As a company, we have embraced the fundamentals of sweep, dust and mop as one of those that we use daily. Ofcourse we know that it may not be the case 0.09% of times within our operations yet it is more the case than not... Especially as we operate predominantly, for now, within the Tropics, when we get to a cleaning site, our cleaning operatives are encouraged to engage-always bearing in mind one of our essential fundamentals to sweep then dust then mop [99.99% of the times]. Ofcourse, we keep seeking ways to grow and improve upon our operations and so are to tweak fundamentals... As our Chief P. says, "where we are isn...
