๐Wonder where the idea behind hot water cleaning emanated from?! Guess we will focus on that another day.
There's support in adequate arguments generally for the use of hot water as a an ideal inclusion in effective cleaning/washing. On the other hand, there's no substantial evidence that hot water results in a completely bacteria free item when used yet there seem to be linkages that present the usefulness of this hot solvent.
The following are arguments for the use of Hotwater.
1) Hot water aids cleaning: According to thespruce.com, the combination of hot water and detergent results in a more effective attack on oils and grime. Quoted from thespruce.com, "without hot water, the detergent is less effective, and oily dishes and clothes don't get as clean."
2) Detonates bacteria hosts: Taking it further from the aforementioned point, once grimes and oils are washed off, it is argued that the existing bacteria found in oils and grimes will wash off too subsequently. Therefore all existing bacteria organisms are rendered inactive and of no or low impact.
3) Hot water, an effective solvent: It is argued that when heated water is applied unto a surface that can be washed with it, due to its nature to dissolve materials it contacts at a very fast rate, it enables a more effective elimination of stains from thick sugar remnants, crust and/or syrup.
4) Hot water enables efficient resource consumption: According to the research conducted by the nilfisk.com
in collaboration with wfk – Cleaning Technology Institute, tests conducted comparing hot- and cold-water pressure washing, revealed that across all applications, hot water reduced cleaning times by an average of 40%. In some cases, such as those involving grease, fat, and oil, hot-water cleaning was four times more efficient than cold-water cleaning. That translates into a cleaning-time reduction of 75%.
From the tests findings, it is clear that hot water does a good job of enabling the speed of the cleaning process.
In addition, apart from achieving quick-speedy cleaning, the use of hot water is argued to dry even faster which enables reduces waiting time hence reduced slips, falls and resulting productive activity.
So...yeaa... hot water helps a great deal but to have a healthy view or expectation of hot water and its usefulness, here are some myths to be ignored:
Hot water kills germs...We were also on that table but now we know better! It is said that the temperature of water needed to successfully kill germs is as high as 55 degrees celsius therefore, unless one is in a walking/talking furnace, germs can still thrive around us. Guess that's why disinfectant, hand wash, soaps et al are key consummables included with water (hot or cold) in every human space in these covid19 period.
Hot water lifts dirts: As stated from a write-up in the sunrise-cleaning.com, "When lifting dirt, a cleaner’s molecules surround dirt particles and bond with them, separating them from other dirt and from surfaces. They can then be washed or wiped away." The aforementioned can be done successfully using a detergent or washing liquid in addition.
In conclusion Dear friends, Hot water is still just water. It does not surround or bond with any type of insoluble dirt.
It can be said to just basically ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆenable the cleaning process and not just a sole contributor to an excellent cleaning service outcome.
